The Owners

Cathi Curtis
Cathi is originally from Hollywood, Florida. She is a former beauty queen (Miss Teen Florida), Miss Majorette of Florida, commercial actress, and costume designer whose designs outfitted the Doug Henning’s World of Magic Show. As a seamstress she designed and sewed leotards for AAU Team FL for 3 years for Nationals.

As a late starter in gymnastics, she waived her amateur status to perform the uneven bars in a Lipton Tea commercial. She also appeared in commercials for Coco-Cola, McDonalds, Kodak, Western Auto, and Burger King. Cathi coached gymnastics, baton twirling, and modeling in Hollywood, Pembroke Pines and Fort Lauderdale before moving to California. Under her direction as a professional Pageant Groomer and Performance Enhancement Specialist, Cathi’s students have won national and international titles. As a Director of the children’s division of the Dorothy Shreve Model and Talent Agency of Newport Beach, California, her students appeared in television shows and movies including Happy Days and Dallas.

She is the proud mother of three grown daughters and 4 beautiful grand-daughters.

Dave Zwiefelhofer

Dave is originally from Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin. He is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin, Stevens Point, where he majored in Health Promotion and minored in Biology and Health.

As a young coach, Dave traveled to both Russia and Romania for gymnastics training programs. In his 30 plus years of coaching, he has coached champions at the State, Regional, and National Levels.

Many of his gymnasts have received full college scholarships. Notable competitions attended include Level 9 and 10 Nationals and several Nastia Liukin Cup, USA Elite Classics, the Jr. Pan-Am Games, the Visa Cup, and the World Championships.

He has also trained the only two international elite gymnasts from our area, and has had JO National Team Members.

Dave enjoys bicycling. He is also the proud papa of Keely, and currently spends his days working hard to improve Coast Elite’s facilities and apparatus, and training future champions.
